Cleaning your car is important because...

Over 2 months since the car had a clean inside our out... Beyond a joke now but time and energy - as yet - have the beating of me, nor can I bring myself to use a car wash!

Still, whilst it's bereft of mitts and cloths agitating the paint surfaces, it can't be getting scratched and the wheels will be fine under that black brake dust... right?

Big Cry

No. Stop. Sad never send your car to an MD for clean. it will come back looking like a brillo pad.. cleaning your car is important because its a FF not a jeep or x5 or q7. its a work or art that needs to be shown as such. Thumbs Up Bow down 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Over here in Abu Dhabi (FF at home with the wife and kids being used in rotation with the other cars), I see little Indian chaps early in the morning 'washing' cars with just a dirty damp cloth and no bucket.

It makes me shudder, but I suppose the hapless and clueless owners who give permission for this know no better and are merely grateful for the sandy dust to be removed.

There was a picture I saw a few days ago from a friend of mine living in Dubai where the Police had stuck a notice on some filthy car parked on the street. The notice was to inform the owner to get the car cleaned or it faces removal as a dirty car isn't appropriate for the Dubai image.

Can you imagine that happening in London or Edinburgh? Laughing Si. <This is my name.

England

It was Quentin Crisp who never cleaned his house/flat - ever, on the premise that it could only get so dirty and would then never get any worse. Tend to agree.

However, if you have OCD, then once clean, doesn't take much to keep it clean Confused

I only have to do the interior of the FFRR a couple of times a year becuase I do not allow anything/anyone in it! Shocked .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Back in 2002 I was in Abu Dhabi and bought a Honda Legend off a guy at work. When it came for its annual 'test' I had to get the car resprayed in its original silver colour because the paint on the roof, bonnet and boot had faded in the sun and didnt match the colour on the side panels so it would have failed its annual test!! Rolling Eyes

Mind you, a full respray only cost about 100Dhs (about £20 at the time!!)

100Dhs is still £20.

My 110 hasn't been cleaned in 18 months (previously highly polished) and I agree they just reach a certain level and don't seem to get any dirtier. Si. <This is my name.
