Is the hand brake actually stuck on or is it just an erroneous message ?

If all is well then nothing bad will happen Eugene... The H Brake should reset with 2 or 3 cycles... Its when it seizes your issues start! They are pretty good at self distructing too as the “Stop” is removed when you pull the emergency release... I have to add, all quite rare! BUT we all know how sods law will come along and deal you a blow, when your away and the wife has the car

Got back from work early ,so I had a look and when you go to start it comes up with handbrake fault and won't start I thought I would do the simple things first and have a look at fuses but the glovebox wouldn't open ? So starts taking apart the dash to try and fix that problem and found it nearly impossible to get open s had the obligatory brew then thought about it and thought it could be a low voltage problem for the glove box so chucked a charger on and it reads 60% charge so left it on charge and thumped the glove box and it opened ? Now just waiting for the battery to charge fully anyone got any more suggestions L322 2008 vogue

Well a new battery charger revealed it only had 300amps and it stayed at 60% for three hours so being as it was the original battery I bought a new one for halfrauds with a lifetime warranty for £159 put it on and jumped to life straight away L322 2008 vogue
