Cleaning / Detailing question

So I took the plunge and finally decided to get some Gtechniq EXO V2 sealant.

Spent a couple of hours yesterday on a clean, clay and 2 stage polish to get it as good as it's going to get (notwithstanding the odd stone chip etc) and applied the first coat of EXO V2 - results are pretty good but have to do a second coat later today probably.

Once all this is done though, do I/should I apply any wax in the future..? Or does the sealant coat do all of it. It is supposed to last up to 18 months to 2 years - I just don't know if it negates having to wax it on the odd occasion.

Any OCD'ers like me out there care to shed any advice on this? Ash

Never used the product but from what I know you don't need to wax on top.

I try to keep on top of the paintwork so the DA polishing did not need that much.

Didn't get time to do the inside though!

Thx though. No need to bother with the wax Thumbs Up

I now need to work out the bet way to clean the leather seats. Whistle Ash

The Subaru was parked undr a sodium light last night and I noticed a few scratches and scuffs I missed when I detailed it, so I've just spent the best part of an hour going over the front wing removing them..Then I liked a but further along and noticed a few more marks so the polishing is still ongoing Sad

My Parchment seats were dirty when I got the car and tried everything I could think of to clean them. In the end Auto Glym leather cleaner and a magic sponge did the trick took all the cr8p off and cleaned them up nicely. Then used some Gliptone conditioner after and they are soft as new and you get that leather smell when you get in the car. The magic sponge I got a pack of 10 from the bay which came from China which took a while to arrive but you can pick them up from the supermarket cheap enough. Hope this helps.

Magic sponge is a very fine abrasive, that's how it works, not a good idea to use it on our painted leather.... Thumbs Up Pete

I would go for a good wax on top of the sealant. After spending all that time with the detail you would probably be helping yourself with that little bit of extra protection with the wax. Plus it will really make the paint come alive and show all the hard work you have put in Very Happy

just my 2 cents Smile

Re Magic eraser can only comment on what I did, but it certainly didnt do any harm and got the grub off nicely with the Auto Glym cleaner and softened them up with the gliptone conditioner after, good as new.

I take your point though Haylands that as an abrasive it could cause some harm so would use with caution, but think you would need to go some. Auto Glym stuff worked well though even without the magic sponge so would recommend that for cleaning and de griming.

LTT leather products take some beating, much better than that gliptone crap that makes your seats look shiny as hell

In theory EXO is a final surface sealant, any inherent 'slip' you get would be lost if you put wax over it.

Some people would put a carnauba wax over ti add 'warmth' to some colours, but I'd just leave EXO on it's own.
