I Kid you not

When I switch the car off it sounds just like a elastic band winding up then snapping does this 2 or 3 times then stops.

Only on switch off, but every time you turn the car off.

Sounds like its coming from the drivers side front

Any ideas got me stuffed.

Might be the fan in the ECU box just behind the head light, that is the only electrical thing that I can think of on that side of the engine bay that operates with the key out. Unless you've got one of those poorly made Solihull examples where some fool put the steering wheel on the wrong side, for a joke , then I would look at the FBH  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

The fans are like those found in a computer, from what I'm lead to believe, so I imagine that the bearings have given out and its got a bad case of the wobbles Quick give it a drink, works for me

And just to make it real fun it's in the bottom of the ECU box, I do remember reading about replacing this on here so a search might be in order, good luck buddy  Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
