Had this on the first 405, but not on the current one.

This really works and prevents a substantial input of heat via the windscreen.

Even with the current seasonal level of sunlight, I have noticed how the top dash and steering wheel feel so hot now.

The whole interior was never like a greenhouse with the Solar glass windscreen.

For the cost of the Glass (£450), surely it makes sense to make this a standard fitment rather than an option.

High prices of these LR's deserve better than a standard screen comparable to that fitted to a Ford Focus.

Focus is a fine car, but for the 405 it should be a no option fitment I feel.

Also dropped wade sensing and electronic rear diff, both of which so far, I have not missed at all.

I'm so sick of the weather this year that I would like solar magnifying glass.

Has to be specified when ordered, so contact dealer with your VIN and they can easily check back.

From memory, I feel the Solar A had a slight yellow tinge to the glass.

If windscreen ever needs to be replaced, I would pay the extra for this glass.

I guess more buyers go for the things that can be seen, but as I already posted, this for me is a viable worthwhile extra.

You can tell by looking at the symbols printed in the glass in the bottom corner. If there is a picture of thermometer it has solar attenuating glass.

It's a must have option even in this country. The aircon can sometimes feel inadequate in hot weather without it.

I have the Solar Attenuating Glass on my car and it works fine.
You can hold your hand on the inside of the front screen and it doesn't feel hot. It keeps the car much cooler in the sun. 2017 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 silicon silver
