TDV8 exhaust note.

I was sitting in my little car today next to a RR Sport 3.6 TDV8 and it sounded really good; a sort of V8 wub wub wub noise.

So why does my 4.4 TDV8 sound like a truck engine? Very little meaty V8-ness about it.

I would imagine the sport has a different exhaust. Probably just has less silencers in it.

My mate put a straight through exhaust on his 1.9 Diesel VW, with the cat removed too. It was still very quiet, but had a nice growl overlaid with a nice soft turbo whistle. I would imagine an extra 4 cylinders would make it sound rather nice.

The 16litre Scania V8's also have a nice V8 whoomp to them when they have an eminox stack fitted, does get a bit boring with it constantly in your ear holes after the first hour on the motorway mind you.

I am sure I have read on here that one of the benefits of the 4.4 over the 3.6 is it's smoother, quieter drive....

You'll be moaning about those 2 extra gears next Rolling with laughter Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Only if the gearbox starts developing issues!

Other than that I love it, especially the near instant gear change when using the paddles.

I prefer paddles that require no effort and don't involve the threat of drowning!
