Some years ago I watched my father-in-law strip a fireplace to free a bird that had fallen down the chimney.
He spent a long time at it and when he was about to remove the last piece he called us all in to the room to see him being a hero rescuing the bird.... it promptly shot out of the opening and straight into the window breaking its neck. Previously..

I'm working in Dunkirk at the moment, couple of weeks back I was waiting for my bus outside the main railway station, when I heard this massive 'POP', just as a bus pulled in, it sounded like a tyre had burst.

Then there was this shower of feathers........

The bus had run over a pigeon that was mooching around on the road, but unfortunately he pecked his last!!!!

They don't half go off with a hell of a pop when a 10 ton bus runs over them!!!!

OMG Stan this is so cruel, this is really horrible. A whole life of training and caring crashed by stupidity in seconds.

That's a real shame, what a lovely bird. My first thought was all of the time now lost that was spent training.
After that I must confess I had to laugh.... But it is sad.... But also funny.... But more sad... Previously..
