This is the perfect time for you to invest in a dashcam

Just in case the other party has a dash cam, phone the supermarket and ask if they fit them to all delivery vans nationally.

As already mentioned, get one yourself for peace of mind.

Thanks all, like some have said, no collision so no damage, injury etc. it sucks that his indication directly affected my decision yet I'm the one worrying over it. Its spoilt my holiday to be honest, just thinking about it rather than remembering the trip Sad

Hi mate, sorry to hear this and that it shook you up a bit. I know the feeling since it has happened to me more than once (granted I have been living in some dodgy places when it comes to traffic Smile ).

Strictly speaking it sounds like you are in the wrong as per the above quote from the traffic law and if I remember correctly the Dutch traffic law are the same on that point. This does not mean that things like this won't happen because one also starts to expect, after years of driving, that people do as they indicate because lets be fair, it is more common for people not to indicate and turn than the other way around.

So I fully understand your shock and frustration and am glad that nobody got hurt.

I like how you thought of your little one first and not enter into a discussion with the van driver.

One thing I'd recommend though, get a dashcam installed so in case something happens, you have much better proof and memory of the situation. Even though it might not have helped in this case, it may in a future case Wink. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
