Should I buy this?

Please let me know what your well respected opinion is, dear gentlemen. I really like this car, but feel a little doubtful if this is my cup of tea to be seen in after all those years driving my prewar cars....any opinion is welcome thanks. Thumbs Up Bow down

Big block and a 4-speed manual. Nice combination. Thumbs Up

I take it you like Corvettes?

It's a nice car from the look of the pictures. If you like it, then why the hell not? Enjoy it for a while and sell it on if the novelty wears thin. What do you have to lose? Si. <This is my name.

thanks Bellini; I have never been into corvettes, until I saw a few on a expo a few weeks ago and decided that the only one I liked was the LT1 1970. Yesterday evening I stumbled over this one on Classiccars for sale and fell in love. It's horrible...life is so tough Thumbs Up

Thanks Marc. Just had them on the phone; maybe I know more tomorrow morning

You're right at the end of the great muscle car era there. 1971 was the last year of true performance and then things became somewhat strangled after that.

What I'm saying is that this isn't some 'all show and no go' machine but a genuinely fast car that looks period-correct. It'll be a good purchase for you.

Looks pretty original, too. Just be careful that it all works as it should as, even with low mileage, things do wear out and need replaced. Si. <This is my name.

Surely Robert, if it's in good condition... It's priced correctly and by that I mean priced according to the age, Milage & condition! Surely it's a no brainer... Buy it, keep it right, sell it when you have had your fun for the same if not more money!

Certainly the way it works here in the UK...

You only live once Robert!!! Remember that sir Whistle

Thanks Bellini, it is indeed the last year of the big block performance and had great test reports at the time. This one seems to be OK. They offered to bring it down for 750 gbp pay at arrival or if not according to description take it back.
So I just wrote them "YES"

Sorry Axle, wish Buzz a great and long life Embarassed

@ Gary and Craig, thanks for the motivational words, my doubts were mainly based on the passion I have for really old cars, this is only 1970, but writing that....it shows my age Mr. Green

It also seems that the vintage market is getting smaller and smaller and the investment in cars is mainly done by people that were born in the 70ies and 80 ies. They are looking for the cars out of their youth, so Craig think you're right. Better investment as money in the bank, certainly more fun

Thanks for all your replies dear gentlemen Thumbs Up

Very kind of you 47P. The only saloon I would like to buy would be a Jaguar Mk 5 or a MG SA. The Rover is a very nice quality car but not really my cup of tea.
