When I re-registered some years ago I had to have a Certificate of Conformity in French which, as you said, was supplied by LR. However, over the last few years Préfectures have been accepting the later type V5 showing the E number as being conforming.

You can get, if needed, a COC from Land Rover France, it 'll cost you 185 Euro. If the car is in your name you don't need a tax certificate, you do need a french MOT (CT) not older as 6 months. As said before it depends on the Préfecture. You better go to yours and ask if the V5 with E number is good enough if not you will need a French COC |

btw the translated factory COC is not valid here. You do need a few items on it for the French admin, so you have to order a French COC. |

another example, tried to reg. my Aston with a Brit. V5 and factory COC. Was not accepted. Drove on for 2 years on a Brit V5 here in france. Sold the car last year to a guy from Orleans. He went with the same papers to his prefecture and got his carte grise without any problem.

As you can now use any Préfecture, if you get problems at one you can always try another |

Silly question but the CoC, is it not just a standard document that they change the colour/vin/engine number and model specific bits on and thats it?
