Thanks for the welcome - As I understand, all TD6 motors were fitted with auxilliary FBH's to assist the warm up cycle of the TD6 motor from a start in temperatures at 5degC or less. Cars with the sat nav screen have further options for aux ventilation, which provides for starting the FBH at a set time for defrosting etc. I'm just wanting to know if this can be done on a car that doesn't have the on board computer screen. (along with the remote question I've already asked) Since I've never owned a RR, it's difficult to phrase the questions as effectively, i don't know what it is exactly I'm asking about, just trying to glean info before I eventually buy one. I had a 1981 SWB Station Wagon years ago and I vowed never again. I ended up putting a new galvanised chassis on it which took more than one lunch break to fit! HSE not Vogue - |

Really? I think if you are petrol type person then you stick with petrol. The only problem is petrols are getting rarer as LR sell more and more Diesels, now I think the only petrol variant is the SC? In all honesty, I would consider the TDV8 because it is a good engine, however I would be concerned I wouldn't be able to maintain it, as Diesels use some sort of witchcraft to work. Petrol go bang turn wheels move forward. To quote The Telegraph: Call it a guilty pleasure if you will, but there are few finer ways of travelling than in a lounge on wheels that accelerates from 0-60 insanely quickly, drives at motorway speeds in near silence and will get you out of trouble that includes sticky fields and equally sticky overtaking situations. Yes, the diesel version will kill the planet slightly more slowly, but if it's sheer opulence you're after, it's the Autobiography V8 for you. Last edited by dan_uk_1984 on 3rd Nov 2010 11:32am. The kit you need is: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WEBASTO-THERMO-TOP-H...19bfff9c05 You can find the individual bits cheaper than that though. Also - you should see if the loom is already there. Behind the fuse panel in the boot (right hand side) is where it all plugs in. It will be a real pain if it is not there. There are cheaper home made options I read about here: http://www.disco3.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Fuel_Burning_Heater FBH by d86cfv, on Flickr |

Dan - that looks like exactly what I'm going on about, Telestart T90 Remote Control for the on-board FBH.
