United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Bonatti Grey
Recently saved from becoming a parts car...

Well recently i saw this come up for sale and for the money i won it for was pretty chuffed.

The header tank had split like a good un and there is lacquer peel on the bonnet roof and boot and needs a dam good clean.

First thing before collecting it was to track down a new header tank, £45 later job done.

I then went and got the car, fitted the tank, added coolant and bled the system and then drove her straight home after putting some fuel in.

Engine and gearbox and the rest of the car checked over and the following faults are apparent but not massive in the scheme of things;
1. Sunroof cables need to be pulled out and freed off as they appear to have never been used and the motor runs fine.
2. Pass side wing mirror cover needs replacing
3.aircon needs a regas(booked in for this)
4.boot badge was loose so rather than lose it i have removed it
5.pin code panel cover is broken/loose so would need replacing
6. cruise system has a vacum leak somewhere
7. lacquer peel is going to be roughly £100 er panel to fix so really looking at £400 to repair that alone
8.windscreen has a crack in the passenger side bottom corner
9.it annoys me there is no actual fuel gauge on the dash Very Happy
10. needs a radio antenna fixing back onto the boot.
To be fair its an old rare car that is pretty quick once rolling and isn't as scary on fuel as you'd think. Its a big french luxo barge so does the wafting along in comfort very well. All the other elecrtics inside seem to work including the radio.

Im going to spend an evening cleaning it up and then stick it up for the massive sum of £350 as it now owes me a little more than that and hopefully someone will have it otherwise i may post it up on ebay.fr/lebecoin thing.

I haven't seen a 605 in ages and initially thought it was a 405 until I saw the rear roof and boot line.

It was the same when they were new. I'm sure a few car magazines made the same comment.

In my opinion, this was one of the last of the good-looking Peugeots before they received the guppy fish styling and became truly hideous things.

I still fondly remember my 405 Mi-16. Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

It covers what it owes me so far and hopefully means its next owner then has the cash to do the bits needed on it. Ideally it wants someone who works in a paintshop but knows a little bit about mechanical's and it would be made good again with little work as i doubt screens are much even second hand as new ones they would probably be happy to get out of stock lol FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

And at £350 im still surprised it sold to the second person who viewed it but they were happy about it and know it needs a lot of silly things to get good again but they enjoyed their 2.5-3hr drive home in it last night at 2230hrs and have said this morning they were very impressed with it and chuffed to bits Smile

Just waiting for the plank that first came to see it to call back and say, "errm yeah i have to agree there arent any others for sale and havent been for a long while and for the money its a bargain so can i come by and pick it up" and i can respond along the lines of...
" sorry you even kicked one of the tyres and as i said, i had other people wanting to come and see the car and strangely enough the next person who came a day after you to look at it drove across half the country almost and then paid the money and drove it straight home and is chuffed with it" Very Happy

Shame to see it go but needs must and with the main issue being fixed i think it will get all its niggly jobs sorted in its new ownership and be on the show circuit next year when all is said and done Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
