Still needs supporting as the pressure in the air bag will drive it down to the limit of the damper |

Didn't need to take the steering knuckle off in the end. Got the ball joint out in situ. After replacing it the clanking hollow noise is still there. I've only done one side though but you can hear the noise coming from the driver side (as well as from passenger's but that's for next week).

There are two lower ball joints, no upper ones. Have you checked both?? the drop links can give noise especially if the hardened washer under the top nut has been left off... Pete

You are indeed correct, both are lower joints sitting next to each other. However I don't believe I've seen a washer, only flanged nuts. Is there supposed to be one or two - one for each link?

OK, so just to finish this one off. The noise was getting worse so I've ordered 4 new Lemforder anti-roll bar linkages from CP4Less (front and rear - £80 with the discount delivered) and yes, indeed, the front top joint had a washer which I reused. Didn't do the rear yet but the front is nice and quiet again. Nice! |

Dan at Duckworths Land Rover Main Dealer, site sponsor on here, he gives trade prices and free P+P on most things... very good service from him, he also stocks OEM parts so you get the proper quality without the silly main dealer prices...
