Just getting a new L405 at the end of the month that is on the standard Vogue SE 20" wheels that to be honest I do not particularly like.

I have bought a set on 22" style 7 AB wheels & tyres

However I should have asked first - What is the ride on 22" rims ?

Anyone regret having 22" rims & gone back to 20" ?

I have the jet engine style ones. Look great, aren't too harsh on ride but definitely firmer than 21s. They help with handling too but are very easy to kerb!!!

That's exactly what I did with mine

Firmer, but more responsive - I haven't regretted it for a second - am conscious about kerning, but haven't scraped them yet

I have the 22's on my L405 (had 20's on my old L322) and there are noticeable differences to me. The pro's to me of the 22's are:-
they look great / are the first alloys ( I forget the LR name) that have big enough gaps that I can clean the front and backs of the wheels, / and I feel like I have a lot more traction on the road (less movement on the tyre wall maybe due to lower profile?).

Lot harder ride than my old 20's , seem to feel bumps in roads a lot more

Make sure wheel is more 'straight on' when mounting/dismounting kerbs or any raised object (I had to back onto a kerb the other day to turn around and the car stopped dead as I came up to the kerb, I had turned at the same place in the past in my old car and it simple went straight over the kerb with little fuss, obviously due to the greater amount of air volume and tyre wall depth in the 20's).
Feel every speed bump (plastic or tarmac) at any speed just like a normal saloon car (whereas my old 20's could go over them at speed and almost feel nothing or if slow, just bounced a bit).

For my next L405, will most likely drop down to 21's to try to negate some of the above.

As you know I have 22's on my L405, previously had 21"s.

The ride is definitely a fair bit firmer with the 22"s and you notice the bumps and road imperfections more compared to the 21"s.

Thing is, It doesn't really bother me as I had gotten used to the firm ride I had with 2 previous RRS's and the wheels look great. 2014 SDV8 Autobiography

I went from 19" on my old L322 to 22" on my L405. I was worried about the difference to be honest, and would have opted for smaller wheels given the choice. But I haven't regretted it at all - I am amazed by the ride quality and think the wheels look great.

I guess I do worry more about damaging them - especially kerbing them, but then again the cameras help here. So far so good.

I can see myself buying a smaller set for the winter months, but then again I may not bother. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB
