I've owned 5 Range Rovers in total, from a 1987 3,5 V8 Carburettor Classic to a 2003 V8 Petrol L322, but what I am seeing on these threads about the L405 is that the build quality / reliability / faults from new is getting worse, which for a bloody expensive car is frankly shocking! |

My L405 has been far more unreliable than my L322 and that wasn't exactly fault free either! |

That is totally unacceptable for the price and supposed 'prestige' of the car!

my l405 tdv6 has been faultless since I bought it new in dec 14, everything about it has been better than my l322 which I bought from new and was a complete nightmare with all sorts of faults appearing all too frequently, I guess it is the luck of the draw with range rovers, you either love them or hate them but always seem to come back !! |

Agree with you, I've had 5 in total, the most reliable was the P38 we had for 11 years, this one has cost us a lot of money but we found out after we'd bought it that it had not been serviced for two years! But I still love them! |

Had my TDV6 since March and it's been faultless. Only issues are 'design' faults, such as linking a physical button to a virtual response like with the seat heating/cooling operation. Poor reversing camera operation. These are being fixed now. Only other complaint is the Infotainment, so I'll be upgrading as soon as they sort that out. I'm guessing there will be a minor facelift too in MY17. |

I've now done over 67k over three different L405 and my experience has been light years better than previous L322. The suspension knock being the well documented failing.

After my L322 was in for the brake recall on Tuesday I sat in £109k of L405 and have to say it was a nice place to be - though a lifetime outside of my northern budget I have to say that in 5-7 years I may be tempted if they are as low as £35k ish? Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........ |

What is unbelievable to me is that the MY15s seem to have a totally different set of issues to the MY 13s and 14s (the main issue on these being the suspension knocking). They seem to have fixed the early problems but created new ones. How they manage to do this is beyond me unless they are lowering the quality of some of the components on later models to increase profit. |

Had my L322 for 7yrs and put @100,000 miles on it and the only major cost was the gearbox rebuild (which if I had known they go at around 90k miles on the td 3.0L engine I would have sold it at 80k), other than that, tyres pads and discs, 1 ceased brake calliper and a £56 wiring loom. Never paid for 1 MOT (free from dealer and as part of a ridiculously cheap service plan for 4yrs).
