Supercharged prices.

Good morning all,
I see that Supercharged prices are now falling below £10000 (mainly for high mileage/poor condition).

I've had my eye open for a Supercharged for a few years. I've owned my P38 4.6 for 9 years without any major problems-even started first time after 2 weeks away.

Question-When are the 5.0 Supercharged likely to hit the £15000 area as I may wait a few more years with my trusty P38 (I'll keep it anyway when I buy a Supercharged).

Well if its took nearly 10 years for 05 SC's to drop down to £10k ... the 5.0's i think came out in 09 so by that way of reckoning possibly another 4 year ... granted some are going the now for £23k so it might be sooner ....

I honestly think it will be sooner as the prices of 405's start to drop more when used stock actually starts to be less controlled by LR and there is more stock to chose from. Dont forget the RFL has a small bearing on it, yes its not big in the scheme of things but its £480+ a year that soon adds to the price of the car these days with the new tax rules. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

in a couple of years new registered cars will only have two tax bands i think free or £140 - so L405's from 2017 on will be £140 a year car tax. That'll probably make L322's less desirable, so the prices will fall faster.

Yes but then their first year is £2000 but being a rangey still actually likely to be £450 due to being a premium vehicle over the £40k bracket...

Ok, just read that. Looks like it has the premium applied for the first 5 years, then drops to the £140.

by 2022, L322's will be worth peanuts anyway so so actually probably wont make much difference.

TBH at that point the 5.0sc's will be hitting the £10k barrier i bet as once they dip below £20k which one or two high miler ones have done, purchasers are much more wary of the yearly tax. Fair enough its a little bit more than twice the pre budget change ones were but i dont think any FF is in the lower bracket anyway so its a moot point. the only difference is the huge leap in year 1 costs to the first buyer. any FF after 2006 is higher bracket so it just peaks the average buyer and they then look at the more common sport in TDV6 form or the like.

The new hybrid one may be lower but not by much and again that just affects the first owner.

The big thing for the OP is that it will be at least 3years i reckon before DECENT 5.0's hit £15k and not dog earred high milers unless someone drops lucky on one at auction or someone trying to sell quick to emigrate or the likes. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

When you look at it £500 tax is around 3 pints a week.

if you get a 4.2 registered prior to March 2006 they're only £290 road tax. Worth bearing in mind if you find yourself looking at two otherwise identical 2006 cars.....

IMHO anyone who is considering buying a 5.0 and is worried about tax shouldn't be buying a 5.0
That is all Laughing 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!
