Don't get me wrong, I dont think it looks great. But as a functional peice of kit... The roads round here are terrible and their idea of resurfacing is a light coat of tar and a sprinkling of chippings. Obviosly they dont do this in the summer when the chippings would actually stick. So in the winter one spends ones whole time being showered with road chippings.

This would mean I get to keep the paint on the leading edge of my bonnet! 

Hmmmm had 3 RR's and one thing I have noticed is that I don't get stone chips on the leading edge..... Land Rover Addict

My old one was riddled. I honestly think its the roads round here though. 

Well, Argyll & Bute don't repair their roads either just spray and chip and now I need to re-spray my bonnet as I'm down to bare metal in places on the leading edge  2008 MY Supercharged

I think Bug deflectors, car bras etc etc look terrible on any car.

I agree, they don't look great, although stick out like a sore thumb on a silver car. Do they look worse than 100's of stone chips on the leading edge? They pop on/off easily so one needn't have them on all the time... 

I agree it’s practicality against looks. Fortunately the roads I travel on aren’t so bad.

I just remember that there seemed to be an explosion of black bras on cars and deflectors on trucks in California in the 80’s & 90s – for me it took away the beauty (?).

I understand that a ‘clear / see through’ bra is now available – that maybe a good compromise.

It’s like wind deflectors – I love the concept of them but somehow I just cannot put them on.

I think layer of clear sigh writers plastic stuck on would protect about the same and look much better.

I did a 55 plate White Defender all over. When I sold it the coating came off and it was like a brand new car after 57k miles and offroading.

protection film looks so much better, (mainly because you can't see it!!) And it works too. 2006 Mercedes CLS
