Guys, the prices people quote on here seem to vary wildly from £125 to £300 for replacement keys from the dealers.

If you've ordered a replacement key 2002-2006 would you mind shouting out what you paid and which dealer you ordered from?

I was told around £130ish from Barretts in Kent. That comes pre cut and programmed to the car. Do you have lost key insurance with your, car insurance, bank or breakdown cover? Everyone seems to be trying to flog it for £15 or so these days.......

look on group buys a guy called Daveo? supplies the new style flip keys i bought one had it cut changed over the internals and Daveo went through the programming with me on the phone, all done for around £60.

If only there was an option for a MY2007  Regards

I had of of mine stolen last year.

Paid around 180€ for the replacement.
it took almost a year to have it replaced.
First LR sent a wrong key
The second was not cut right, so it wouldn't turn
Third time's the charm and it worked ok.

Trouble is I only have one key - I need a spare.

I'll give the dealer a call and see if they'll do it by post foe me.

LR UK have told me I should be able to do the key ordering process via email/phone but I would have to collect the key in person with proof of ID etc etc.

That's fine, except it seems no dealer is willing to actually do it. They all say they want to see the paperwork first and pay up-front. 

Surely you can fax/email them a scan of the relevant documents and pay over the phone for them to order it and bring original docs when you collect?

Dan might get you one, he helped me out when I was stuck, previous owner omitted to mention there was only one key until I collected the car - yes you know who you are  Geoff

yes can certainly supply a new key, just need a copy of the V5 and licence, photo/scan etc
