England 2014 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

Seems like a decent sized company with three depots, give them a ring and speak to the boss....

Don't think I'd send a video to the Police unless it resulted in an accident or loss to yourself...

You never know how these things will be interpreted..... Pete

Deffo call his employer and send them the video. He is representing them and responsible for lots of passengers. This guy needs to be reprimanded.

Personally, I shall never book a holiday with Oakleaf Travel again!!

It was not so congested that you couldn't have moved over to the left, your video is proof of that.

Wow, there is a lot that has been discussed in my absence.

I have to say that I am a little disappointed that you are referring to me as an idiot Contraband Big Cry

The clip was short and does not show my attempts to move to the outside lane. I hate middle lane "hoggers" as much as the next driver.

We don't want this driver to lose his job and then maybe his home/family so I have decided not to forward to employer.

I too will not be booking my next, or any future holidays with them. Laughing

I think you almost have a "duty" to report him to his employer Whistle

If he lost his job he'd only have himself to blame for his appalling and dangerous actions.

Whether you report him or not - its "out there".

If you Google the company name and "bad driving" the chatter on this thread gives it a top 5 listing, so chances are it could find its way to the company.

Perhaps he'll get his comeuppance as a result of the video on youtube and you starting this thread Whistle

Well, I guess I'm late to the party here.
Police, I'd say "No," given the lack of consequences.
Employer, DEFINITELY. 1 They don't want the bad publicity. 2 If I was the boss there, I'd appreciate being able to settle it informally. If the driver has a good record, it shouldn't be anything more than a verbal warning. If the driver has a long history of this, well, you might save the lives of future road users.

Oh, and did you notice, everyone seems to be on the wrong side of the Censored road! Mr. Green

It does beg the question, If you tried to move over and let him in, why not just slow down a little, and let him in, seeing as you couldn't move right Confused

I can't see why the coach was trying to move into lane 2 at that point, lane 1 was clearer than 2&3. Or was lane 1 filtering off onto another road further ahead?

Email the link to the bus company, let them decide. The driver could be a serial fool and this is just the type of evidence they need against him or he could be their star employee just having a very bad day.

my 2p from the short clip.

* You are in lane two with your speed governed by the dark coloured (Astra?).

* Lane three is unavailable to you it as is occupied prior by a silver Astra.

* The carriageway has congestion as can be seen by the silver BMW vehicle in Lane 1 being able to pass a number of slower moving vehicles in Lane 2.

* Lane 1 is not safe to move in to due to a silver BMW, a small red car and then the coach who all appear to be making more progress than vehicles occupying Lanes 2 and 3.

* When the coaches emergency exit door is about level with your bonnet the coach driver indicates his intention to move from Lane 1 in to Lane 2

* The gap is clearly insufficient for this maneuver which he should have noticed in the mirror part of lane change/overtake procedure

* His subsequent choice of hand gesture would suggest he was aware of this.

* There would appear no need for the coach to move from Lane 1 into Lane 2 as Lane 1 is clear and there is significant clear distance between the coach and the small red car in front.

* For you to move from Lane 2 into Lane 1 could have put you in the position that Alistair points out. Overtaking on the left which in these conditions could have been considered as weaving.

* The clip shows shows a number of vehicles in Lane 2 and 3 whose speed is being governed due to congestion weakening Contraband's hogging assertion.

Jack

I did brake when he started to pull into my lane but I had a car immediately behind me. I judged there to be a significant risk of being hit from behind.

United States 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Scotia Grey

It seems people in the UK are behaving in the same way as here in the USA ... the slow drivers drive in the "fast/passing" lane and the fast drivers end up in the "slow" lane. It is ridiculous. There are times when no one is in the "slow" lane at all, so I use it and go faster than all the other crazy people clogging up the passing lanes. It just seems to be so common that you don't get tickets here for any lane rules, only for speeding or being very reckless.

When you try to flash your headlights to tell a slow driver to move over, they are just completely clueless. It seems this isn't covered any more during driving lessons or the test.

It wasn't like this, a long time ago, when I learnt to drive in the UK. I hope they at least still drive correctly in Germany, or have they been overrun by the clueless drivers too!! 2015 RR ATB (Scotia Grey w/Cirrus-Ebony)
