Congrats pjb, so what's the full spec?

I went through the same when I got my L405. Came close to ordering new as they were almost as cheap. However, ended up with a 9 month old SDV8 AB as the deal, with my part ex RRS, was just so good. I would not have got a new AB for the same price! 2019 SDV8 Autobiography in Byron Blue

It had to be Kentdale.
Still have the same customer service ethos as when Colin Shepherd was Dealer Principal there.
Service crew excellent too.
It always came back hand washed (2 buckets!) - clean and with all paperwork sorted.

Am afraid Local mob at Barton/Bilsborrow (Hunters) are useless.
A few years ago my Defender came back with a ding and some scratches around the bonnet area that were not there before it went in. Not only that, they failed to fix the ABS on it and in fact it appears later - that they had just cut the wires and bodged it up with sticky tape. By then of course it was out of warranty.

I refused to use them after that even when buying a number of new vehicles.
Since then I've been going to Kentdale.

Under new ownership (but with many of the same staff there) I decided I would give them a chance on this new FFRR.
Sadly it seems as if things have not improved. When I arrived at the dealership mid afternoon one weekday, nobody approached me and I had to search for a sales person to talk to. It turned out that I then got the guy who only joined a week before I knew nothing about the cars. He just kept referring to the Land Rover website.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt and plenty of leeway with which to go and ask questions and given he was on his first day he did a sub par job but it was already on the cards...
Needless to say despite asking for information they only had 2014 model year Range Rover brochures, and they didn't have the full range of colour panels.
I decided to exit leaving my card, and a printout of the specification I was looking for.
I have heard nothing since.

Just confirmed what most do here - avoid the place!

As for colour - it's a 2016MY one - between Corris Grey and Anthracite.
20" wheels work well enough off road, and still give comfort on the bumpy lanes up here...
Didn't see the point in going to 21"or 22" ones..
Cheers,

Hunters at Brock are my local dealer too, my impression of them is not too good and i would prefer to travel to get better service. Took my RRS there to have suspension looked at under warranty and came away £280 lighter when they did a four wheel alignment - they said it would be £200. I didnt feel looked after at all. I went to kentdale a few weeks back to look and discuss FFRRs and look at finance options, despite taking lots of notes and my telephone number they never got back to me. Ended up buying at Farnell Nelson, deal was great and the CS has so far been excellent, despite the niggles with my car. 2019 SDV8 Autobiography in Byron Blue

It's sad that even after around 10 years of my knowing what is now Hunters at Brock that they are still so bloody useless.
Reputation is everything in this sort of business, that's why those that put the customer first do so well.
It's the same with agricultural gear too. No surprises there.

Shame about your recent experience there peterg1965 - but my experience of Hunters having a "licence to print money" and being totally indifferent to customers is clearly not an experience that is unique to me. I know most of the farming community avoid them.. and you'd think that's who they'd want on board! Brown's Mitsubishi do really well as a result - their service is pretty good.

I'm surprised about Kentdale, since I've had just a really good experience with them again, but have also heard good things about Farnell. I come from Westmorland originally, so Kentdale is close to my relatives. Easy too - since I'm often up there or nearby.

Oh, and locally for those with Land Rovers who want really knowledgeable and great independent service I can highly recommend Claughton Service Centre on Claughton Industrial Estate at Catterall. (01995 641107) Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 - L405 (now sadly sold)

Top spec, that's about what I would have had on a brand new Vogue SE, maybe I would have added the 21" alloys as I think the standard 20"s are just a little small for my taste. Bet you cant wait, and Loire Blue is a lovely colour. Its almost laughable that front fog lights are an optional extra on a £70k+ car!

Anyway, genuine congrats! 2019 SDV8 Autobiography in Byron Blue

About 6 weeks ago Hunters offered me a deal on a brand new black Vogue (MY15.5) they had out the front, unregistered and looked great. I was sorely tempted and thought very hard about it, in the end it didn't feel right so I said no. Thank god I did! I had only just started looking and it was easy to be seduced by the first deal with the car just sat there.

A few weeks later, and quite a few enquiries on different cars new and used, the experience exposed the Hunters deal for what it was - simply awful. The trade in on my RRS was well below book value and the VfM on the hunters car was woeful. In the end, the experience with Farnell was the complete opposite, and for £30 a month more and £1000 less deposit I was in a 9 month old SDV8 Autobiography as opposed to a brand new TDV6 Vogue. I

I was genuinely disappointed with Kentdale, I liked their showroom and location and the salesman came across as really genuine and helpful. 2019 SDV8 Autobiography in Byron Blue

I had the same difficult choice.
I was going to change mine last year, but really wanted all the toys because any new one will have to be a keeper for at least 5 years. So I pushed on with the old one for another year until I could afford it... also delayed swapping out the Steyr tractor too, giving that one more year...
It all helps, although a few things recently broke on the tractor and it needed a new battery too - so maybe that wasn't the right decision. Will see how finances stand in December..
