My horse is 15 years old and ex RDA too. The riding school who was selling her (had her 4 years or so) have lost the contract and have no need for another schooling horse as they do more hacks out, as well as the regular riders have not turned up either to ride her.

I just need a saddle to fit her next and we're good to go  If it dont work.......burn it!

I'm confused as hell now.... I've seen horses in fields but don't know much about them.... got on one once but it didn't have a brake pedal so I didn't stay on it long.....

Firstly, why do you take your horse for a drive, I thought they could run quite fast, or are some horses just lazy...??

Second, how do you get a trailer like that through the McDonalds drive through....??

Thirdly, why have you got another trailer for beavers, they live in water, watched loads of wildlife films, never seen one who has to go out... or are they moving house....??

You should give riding a chance!! Imagine off roading without having to stop to open gates and getting a cheery smile from ramblers rather than a load of abuse!!!!

Time to get back on that horse fella and feel the country breeze and fresh air......and you won't have to worry about any eas issue etc failing .....

No beavers where sighted when the house removal happened, only the tailed verity where truly roasted on the fire that day.......hence I don't need a Mc Donald....free meal!  If it dont work.......burn it!

To be fare I have ridden horses a fair bit in the past although the last quadruped I rode was an elephant...!!!

Haven't been able to sit on one, or a motorbike for several years now... hoping the new parts I'm having fitted will sort this out....

Question to the horse box trailer chaps.

I took the trailer down the field this afternoon to see if my mare would 'go in the trailer' before I really need to travel her about, as we all know this can be an issue at times.
Surprisingly she did after 40 min on the softly softly approach, and been patient, now I have never loaded a horse on a trailer before ( the owners had done that before while I stood back ) so was really pleased with myself as I know and seen ( when the other horse we loaned was sold and loaded took 1 hour and half to do) can be a right pain!

Now as she was in the box she looked a bit 'BIG' for the box , shes 16.2 so im on the max side for this rice model trailer, height is fine but breast on the bar and bum on the ramp when up.....not tight but too close for my liking as both ends would rub when traveling.
Could I ask you guys what the measurement on your Ifors and rices ect between breast bar and rear ramp if you have a large'ish horse please, just so I have an idea if I need to move this trailer on or make do. If it dont work.......burn it!

Welshy, on my 511 the distance from back of breast bar to front of rear bar at there furthest position is 81". If I renoved rear bar I would get another 5" although have never had to do that even with 17.2

Looks like I might be in need of a bigger box !!!!

Well at least I wont loose money on this trailer as I did get a bargain to start with

I will load up again tomorrow and take some pictures, I knew I would be close to max on this trailer but looks like I need a bigger trailer by the measurement

Believe it or not I watched a youtube vid on loading a difficult horse in a trailer and took their advice.....slow and patient and most of all don't rush or get mad and loose it with them.....sound advice imo when it comes to horses

The only thing I could kick my self on is I parked the RR and trailer with the sun in front of them .......ie trailer back was in the shadow which makes the inside really dark ! ( hope that makes sense) If it dont work.......burn it!

That sounds a bit short, glad you are sorted, one of many tips, keep the front ramp down when loading as they can see a way out

Wd - I've just been a checked my Rice and with the breast and bum bars in the closest positions I have 68" clear. With them in the farthest positions I have 85" clear. I normally run with them approx 72" clear but then again I normally have 3 in the trailer (Beaufort Treble).

Does your horse have plenty of head space in front of the breast bar? If so then why not move the breast bar positions forwards or add extra ones - spare mounts seem to be readily available.
