Anyone got a waterproof camera?

I'm off to the Maldives next month and was hoping to capture some pics of the sea life while I snorkel, so I was wondering if anyone had something like a Go-Pro or such like they could perhaps lend me for a couple of week?

Of course, I would compensate them in the form of a nice bottle of their preferred tipple in return.

Thanks

Next month being September ?

My kids have my GoPro until about Sept 10 - if later than that then you're welcome to borrow it.

I've got a version 3 Black with various mounts

Thanks for that kind offer Alistair but I fly out on the 10th, so I doubt the timing would work.

Appreciate you're reply all the same. Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Alan, stop being a tight Jock and buy a bloody camera, you can always use it in our lovely summer weather Rolling with laughter

I've got a decent camera but for the few hours I'd use it underwater, I reckon it's not worth the outlay. I'd rather borrow one and repay the favour in liquid form Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Have a look at these 2 cheaper go pro alternatives. They look decent and both get very good reviews Range Rover Vogue 2006 4.4 AJV8 | Buckingham Blue | Parchment Leather | Supercharged Grill+Side Vents | CA02 HEY ( NOT 02 PLATE )

Sure, the one in the photo is a DJI Phantom which are the most popular at the moment they range from around £350 to £1000 for the latest one which considering everything you can do with it and the kind of camera equipment it comes with is actually pretty reasonable.

Plenty more out there to choose from for much less though. if there is a local model shop near you pop in and see them they will keep you right. if not check this guy out on you tube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC90A4JdsSoFm1Okfu0DHTuQ
he does reviews on loads of them. £150 should be enough to get you a decent one plus £50-60 for a 1080p HD camera to stick on it, some of the cheaper ones do come with cameras but any drone under £400 the camera on it won't be up to much. Have look at the SYMA X8W, they are supposed to be decent and not too expensive

If you have never flown anything like these before best to get yourself one of the little indoor ones for around £30-40 they are great to learn with and can take a hell of a lot of crashes Thumbs Up Range Rover Vogue 2006 4.4 AJV8 | Buckingham Blue | Parchment Leather | Supercharged Grill+Side Vents | CA02 HEY ( NOT 02 PLATE )

no problem. I went for the cheaper option Syma X8W + SJ4000 1080p camera to get me started off and looking at some videos on youtube of that combo you can get some pretty impressive footage. I have only every used the little indoor ones so i thought i would just test the water with this one before spending a lot on a Phantom as lets face it with the weather here in Scotland i don't know how much i will be able to use it ! I did have a look at the DJI Phantoms and was seriously considering the Phantom 3 which is £650 but considering you can get near professional footage with one of these and around 20 minuet fly time i would say its very good value but but i would be a bit nervous starting off with something like this as good value or not i don't want to destroy a £650 machine in the first few moments using it, plenty videos of that on youtube ! but i would say that its more than likely i will get one of these at some point Mr. Green

Take a look at this video this was made using the Syma X8C + SJ4000 1080p camera, ok its never going to rival a phantom but for a fraction of the price i think its not to bad. , make sure your youtube setting is on 1080p Thumbs Up Range Rover Vogue 2006 4.4 AJV8 | Buckingham Blue | Parchment Leather | Supercharged Grill+Side Vents | CA02 HEY ( NOT 02 PLATE )

I got an SJ4000 from the bay! yet to get home to check it out but it was much cheaper than a GoPro Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
