best protection

I have purchased 4 brand new alloy wheel rims still in packaging from an excellent forum member, and bolts to boot. Thank you very much. Thumbs Up
my question is what sort of protection do you guys and gals use as I want to start off well.
I've used ag wax in the past on my d2, is there a better product?.
Any help would be well appreciated.
Tia

I have used Chemical Guys Wheel Guard with good results. Brake dust seems to wash off with ease.

I have just done the wheels on my FF this week. Had to clean/polish/wax it in stages due to the weather. I did the wheels on Sunday under the cover of the front porch/garage whilst it was raining and then yesterday was able to start to do the main body. the water just beaded up on the wheels and what brake dust was on them just seemed to wash away with ease.

Or Finish Karen fk1000p high temp sealant wax. It's about £18 for a large tub and you can use it on the bodywork for excellent winter protection as well.
But if you want some thing just for your wheels the Chemical Guys wheel guards is good.

I used this stuff on my Aston:
http://www.performancemotorcare.com/acatal...inner.html

However, it was only available in the US when I bought it (something in it was not legal in the EU). So I'm not sure if this is exactly the same stuff.

It was amazing! Brake dust and dirt did not stick to it so the wheels looked clean for ages. When they got dirty (powder would stick in lumps rather than coating the wheel) it was a breeze to clean - it would wash straight off and no wheel cleaner was needed.

A breeze to apply too - just spray on.

No affiliation - just impressed.

Autoglym do an "alloy wheel seal" in an aerosol. That seems to work really well. I can't help thinking it looks and smells a lot like Mr Sheen though....

Hi Greg

Glad you're happy with the wheels Very Happy
I've always used Poorboys Wheel sealant Wax on my alloys as recommended by someone on the Disco 3 forum. I usually put 2 coats on and it gives the wheels a nice glassy finish. Brake dust just washes off with shampoo - no scrubbing involved. I've also used the Autoglym spray stuff but, as mentioned previously, it's just like furniture polish !!

cheers

I wasn't saying the Autoglym stuff was bad, but I would think furniture polish probably works too., which is a lot cheaper. I'll try it when my Autoglym can runs out.

@ Billy. Yes I'm more than happy with the wheels Very Happy cheers.
just got my new centre caps yesterday, I'll wait until I've got some wheel wax /sealant, then its new tyres time.
I know these will vastly improve the ride of the car as the flat spot on rear is causing vibration and I'm not sure about the other 3 the spare I know is buckled.
At the moment I have some armour guard on order but do like the look of a good wax, and will definitely get some.
thanks to everyone who's replied Bow down Bow down Bow down what a great forum this is.
