Sadly I would have avoided her had it not been for her front wheel and suspension ending up under me - it picked me up and after that I was a passenger! You mentioned psychology of Evidence - I doubt very much if she has much recollection of the incident at all especially how it started. From my perspective I could have sworn she was in the middle lane when it all started, it was only on viewing the tape that I realised she was in front of me. Incidently I did remember at the time why it all happened and you can see it on the video if you look carefully - there is a silver estate in front of the Citroen that appears to brake check her - if you look beyond that in the middle lane I think that is a police car and the silver estate I believe saw the police car and panic braked - thats what set it all up - of course she was too close - but I remember telling the traffic officer at the time it was all started by a police car!! I'd have been more than happy to have my day in court with footage like that !. To say you hit her first with such evidence would have been a great way of showing that she was making a false claim. |

Looks like she was tailgating the car in front when it tapped the brakes gently causing her to panic and slam hers on. I am amazed that her car lost control that easily. Tom

Either her car has no form of stability control or there was something wrong with the suspension/tyre pressure etc. Anyway, to me it also seemed like she was tailgating or going to fast and panic braking when she got too close or the car in front of her braked (either to spook her or because he/she saw something that warranted braking). It looks like she is not slamming on the brakes but doing it on off and that doesn't seem to help......

Looks like she was tailgating and the car in front just tapped his brakes to get her to back off. Problem is the insurance company will now probably pursue them! |

Can't pursue someone for braking. Bottom line is she was driving too close and that, M'Lud is nobody's fault but her own.

Excellent thread and all the evidence you need to justify a dash cam. I was only talking about it last week to a friend who has front and rear GoPro cams fitted in a very smart new Focus RS.

Thought i would share with you the latest update on all this - the citroen insurance (company with a high profile actor advertising how good they are) is still denying liability, so I am still waiting for return of my excess and accident to turn back to non-fault on motor insurance database (at the moment I still have to declare it as a fault on the other cars at home insurance too) My insurance company (every little helps) being absolutely useless saying that no point taking them to court as they will eventually settle. So have launched my third complaint with my insurance company over this claim asking for them to take ownership of the claim and at least restore me to my pre-accident status.
