My otherwise mint 2012 4.4 has grey painted rear hubs through which rust is showing. Ever- helpful Dealership response; 'They all do that'
Do they?

That is the middle of the disc brake sir... Yes, they all do it eventually!

If you hate it enough, get the rear discs changed! Not TOO expensive and usually will take a good couple of years to rust (if you keep your RR clean, especially in the winter months)

If it's the bit you can see just inside the wheel where it bolts on, that is the disc brake, and yes they all rust after a while, you can take the wheels off, sand it down, treat it and respray it if you want....

The fronts are the same.... Pete

Thanks very much guys. Good to know. How foolish of me not to believe everything my main dealer tell me.

I sprayed the disc bells on my mini with enamel. Halfords used to sell 'Plastikote' branded enamel, now they do their own brand.

That lasted until the discs wore out.

It's true though, they go rusty on pretty much any car.

Or do what I did and buy black diamond discs.. They won't rust
