EGR delete on tdv8 4.4

Sitting here in my hotel room in Singapore thinking about my new FFRR

The first job I did on the old td6 was an EGR delete, stop the engine clogging up, in fact I seam to remember doing a rather informative post on these forums about it Laughing

Looking around, not seen many posts on an EGR delete for the 4.4 diesel, and the one I found on another site (splitter!) used a diagnostic tool to close the value after the deletion as well as the physical removal.

Questions for the knowleadgable here.

Is EGR removal recommended on the 4.4 tdv8 (wife does lots of kiddy based short runs)
Any recommendations on kits
Do I need to change anything in the software?

Ta in advance. __________________

EGR Blanking is not possible on the 4.4, due to DPF being fitted

It sounds like you need to have the EGRs cleaned on a regular basis and try to do long runs to allow the heat to clean out the engine piping as much as possible to keep things clean as long as possible.

Where in Singas are you at ?? We live just across the border (Tuas/Second link) Wink. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

spraying a can of EGR cleaner through the inlet every 6 months or so makes a difference.
