Perhaps I'm just getting old...

...and I know it's hot, but if I drove some Censored crappy little hatch back, the last thing I'd want to do is draw attention to myself by turning my stereo up to max whilst driving through quiet residential backstreets with the windows down. Evil or Very Mad

I don't get it. I'm all for enjoying cars (and music for that matter), but have some consideration for others. It seems like every other car is a wannabe nightclub on wheels. Rant over!

Hmmm, feeling better all of a sudden. Whistle Life is what happens while youre making other plans.

Well you know, in the old days we had wars where the smart ones survived, the big mass of lower social classes were massacred and the rich and noble people stayed home or in the mess.
Now we are living in peace and the lower classes drive noicy hatchbacks, fill their brain with alcohol and irritate the poor in betweens. The rich and noble are stil living quiet. i give in, life is tough nowadays

I love my music loud, but if i have it loud in the car, windows are up. I have a very expensive system in the house but I don't have all the windows open when its up, so i fully see where your coming from.

Why subject the rest of us to crappy music.

Steve You remind me of a young me, not much younger mind, perhaps even a little older!

It's going to be 46'C here in Abu Dhabi today. In the shade. That's hot. Mr. Green

Loud music in a car is fine, but only with the windows up. I don't wish to hear anything other than 70's rock and 60's soul from a stereo. Should one ever listen to early Geordie and 'I'll Give You Till Monday', then it's the kind of music that just has to be played loud. But I wouldn't want to inconvenience those with poorer taste who like stuff such as those awful 80's slow ballads, for instance. Laughing

And then there's the car itself. Music in my Mustang? Never!! That's what a 4v 351 is for. The 8-track is for show only.

Music in the Jaguar? Only really Radio 4.

Many, many years ago I used to play loud music in my Fiesta driving along Ashford High Street in the days way before it was pedestrianised. I was 17 and the windows were down. Def Leppard, windows down on a sunny day driving through a busy town seemed so cool back then. Of course, looking back, it was just the opposite and not an activity I'd ever do again. Happy days, though. Si. <This is my name.
