Wales 2003 Range Rover SE Td6 Zambezi Silver

Any car that isn't fit for a DIY battery replacement isn't fit for purpose in my mind. Maybe it can be a bit tricky at times but it should be do-able. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

Don't know about the smoke - that sounds bad - but I think alternator voltage should normally be about 14.4 2011 Vogue TDV8 4.4

Yes, and I never had trouble replacing batteries on TD6. The trouble is that ls that later cars have a battery condition monitor which has to be told that a new battery has been fitted (I don't know why), so the battery has to be fitted by a dealer with diagnostics, or perhaps it is DIY if you have an IID tool. 2011 Vogue TDV8 4.4
