Has Anyone Experienced Back Order For Suspension Bushes Yet

Hi all

My 2013 needs new suspension bushes (they didn't tell me which ones) to stop some knocking in the front but the dealer said they do not have the parts because they are on back order and they have know it take 6 weeks, so they wont book me in and simply said they will call me when they know more.

Anyone have this with their V8, if so, how long did you have to wait?

Its really poor that the new L405, with its £100k price tag, has this kind of issue, has nothing changed in LR over the years?

I'm really hoping it will only be a week or something but dare say the back log is significant if this problem is as common as is suggested?

Lets see what they say when they do finally come back, I've asked LR customer services to comment?

Thanks

Carl

It's not unknown for parts to go on back order, there are various options available to dealers should that happen but most go for the default "leave it on back order option".

They can escalate the back order, or bring up stock lists from other dealerships and bring parts in from another dealership with stock.

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Vogue SDV8 Corris Grey

I've had these Field Service actions...
Q423B April 2015
Q335B Jan 2015
Q363B Jan 2015
Q406B Jan 2015
Q355C Nov 2013
and I can see Q404 - which was check and fix side step rattle if applicable .

Is the suspension bushes recall any of the above actions? Steve

I popped in to ask the service guy on Friday and he came back and said "they are on back order" to which I replied "yes, I just told you that, I want to know when they will be available" then he said "its only making a noise, don't worry about it"

Total f***ing idiots LR and its dealer network, I cant believe they think they are going to rival other top end brands, they are miles apart.

I made some calls to part exchange my RR and its dropped a fortune in the 2 months Ive had it so stuck with this pile of sh*t.

It will 100% be my last LR product.

Drop a PM to LR customer support, or speak to their service manager to try and speed things up.

They can VOR the bushes and escalate to a critial part, and it should be with them sooner rather than later. You can paypal direct using - www.paypal.me/duckworthparts

Hi Dan

Already done that, made no difference, didn't even get a call back from the customer relations guy, that's why I went to the dealers in person, not that standing there mattered either.

I have owned 3 x P38's, 4 x L322's a Sport and now an L405 and fully realise why I sold each and every one.

Back to German stuff for me

Customer Service called to say the dealer has the parts so perhaps they did something to help or its a coincidence, who knows?

The knocking has increased and the RR feels very floaty / loose in the front, I really hope these new parts will help? Being a May 13 car I bet I have old parts and software, wonder if I get the reported update that improves the feel of the suspension?

Should be simple to confirm what has and hasn't been done to the car.

Its LR so never simple Rolling with laughter

I missed a call from LR Customer Services yesterday then received an email shortly after saying they closed my case because they hadnt heard from me. Myt RR hasnt been sorted yet but they think 1 missed call means I am now a happy customer, well done again LR.

The L405 looks great, its the reason I bought it, but the soft ride, pitching and rolling all over the place, crashing over pot holes etc. just spoil it. LR dont want to listen when you say something us up, they prefer to do the minimum amount every time and I am sure owners will start to get tired of it. When spending £100k (not in my case) the expecation is completely different to the £44k new price of an L322 all those years ago. Funny thing is, I bought one of those and it went back for bush replacement too Big Cry

When will they learn, or when will I learn and stop buying this brand.

A disappointed customer.

Carl

Escalate your complaint.

If you don't like the ride or handling, why not a Sport?

HI Trommel,

I can empathise with Carlos.

Good customer relationships, especially in automotive, are built on several factors, especially trust.

In this case, the dealer and manufacturer have to take responsibility in resolving customers concerns and issues.

I too have found LR lacking in this aspect and still have issues that have been on going for several months now.

Shelling out £100k of hard earned for these vehicles is no mean task, even if you are lucky and they are perfect.

Disappointment and frustration results when they have faults that are either not acknowledged (as in the case of the 'ARC Valve Block/ 'knocking' issue...' it's a characteristic of the vehicle..' they said) or not acted upon or acknowledged in other cases.

My view and experience of 38 years of Land Rover ownership, is that the L405 is not yet up to the mark.

There is no reward for brand loyalty for customers of JLR anymore it seems.

So why should we consider any LR product again, let alone moving to a 'Sport' when the acclaimed L405 flagship cannot satisfy LR's own quality and sales claims for its customers?

It pushes us towards other manufacturers, which is unfortunate.

I'm looking at other options now. 8 RR's over the years and still problems that just get lazy action from dealers and JLR.

I don't think there is a perfect manufacturer but the German stuff is far closer, which is a shame cos I really like the look of the L405, but it drives like s**t, I'm sorry but it does.

Fully agree it shouldn't happen, neither initial failings nor poor service afterwards - point is that if you aren't getting what you want from the dealer or customer services, a strongly-worded email to someone higher up the chain seems sensible.

Because of the problems you're having?
