i agree... it would be cheaper for the met office to employ 50 or so people in different parts of the country to look out of their window and then phone in the weather there.. ... - .- -.

Thanks Stan, my sentiments exactly, I just dont understand how it can be so drastically wrong in such a short period of time considering the resources available |

The only accurate weather forecast is telling people what happened yesterday.

When I lived in Scotland it was easy. If you could see the hills it was going to rain. If you couldn't see them it was raining. |

Leaving aside my partisan view as an employee of the company that supplied the Met with about £50m of useless hardware, I totally agree. There should be some sort of audit on how accurate the forecast is vs. the actual. It is rarely, if ever, correct. |

I remember a highly accurate forecast I heard on the radio just after moving the BC: generally cloudy, with possible rainy periods and some sunny breaks. Chance of snow, hail and fog. Some wind.

Well, given up now. Determined to have BBQ today so just finished it in the rain, has been warm today ( maybe 15 ) but overcast with occasional showers, and its July, worst I have known in 12 years of being back over the wall |

It was baking in Kent today - temperature gauge on car showed 38 degrees at 3.30pm, sunny all day. The RR ran really well, nice and cool inside but the engine was extra noisy as I suppose it had a lot to do. Cooled seats came in handy too.

Ere living in Wales we have our own issue with weather, I've given up looking at long range reports.
