Bulkhead hole?

Have a late 2009 model TDV8 with electronic dash. Fitting pair of front lamps, need to have dashboard override switch so I need to bring a cable from the engine compartment into the cabin. Back in the days of the Classic and P38 it used to be easy but not so obvious nowadays. Is there a known access hole or grommet that can be used?

Thanks

There is a nice one up behind the windscreen washer motor, top left of engine bay, put the bonnet in service mode and you can see it..... Pete

Wouldn't it be easier and neater to just fit it on a relay so they go out with the main beam? You can do all that from under the bonnet.

So long as they go out with the main beam, they'll be legal.

I could do that but but I find that on rainy or misty night there can be too much backlight glare from the spot lights and even from road side signage reflection so I prefer to have a convenient on/off on the dash.

I have fed the wire through the firewall grommet of the bonnet release lever. It brings the cable out under the brake servo so it is not easy to get at but a bit of fiddling with mirror and hooked wire got it done.

Ahh ok, so you've got them go out with the main beam, but a switch to put them out even when the main beam is on if you wish?
