What about Goodyear Eagles? A good thread this as I am also considering buying a set of 'take off' wheels which in theory would be cheaper than buying a set of new tyres and having my current alloys refurbed.
Michelin, Pirelli or Goodyear?

Speaking to th chap at Malvern tyres yesterday, the scorpions are supposedly on run out now as Pirelli are moving to greener tyres, so might be a case of get em while you can!

Which is why they are dropping in price at the moment, now at £155 fitted at Malvern. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

it's just because they're an older design now and since LR aren't building L322's with them and buying hundreds of tyres at a time sales will be dropping so they stop making them. Happens with just about all tyres, so long as there is sufficient demand they'll keep making them. It becomes expensive the make tyres once the batches drop below a certain size. That's why you sometimes find a smaller tyre can cost more than a bigger one, as most cars these days come with bigger wheels, the most popular sizes are cheapest.

well a quick update ,,,, I've fitted Pirelli verdes ,they are so quite ,and the ride on the 55's have made it go from a carpet ride to a shag pile carpet ride Very Happy

PS - will be putting my 9 spoke s/c wheels up for sale with tyres after I clean them tomorrow and take pics if anyone's interested 2007 tdv8 se ,stornaway grey

Have the 55 section tyres made much of a difference to gearing or speedo reading? They are if I recall, about an inch wider in diameter than the 50's.

went up to Manchester yesterday at a steady 70 ( cough ) Rolling Eyes ,and it drove just the same ,
speedo is maybe 1 or 2 mile different, and at higher speed slightly lower on revs ,which means less fuel,

well worth doing IMHO Thumbs Up 2007 tdv8 se ,stornaway grey

the 55's wiil add about anextra 2 mph at 70 so with the normal speedo being a few mph under you will have a spot on speedo reading.. ... - .- -.
