Cheers Contra, decided to not take it out today as the forecast was rather moist, so took another out for a very wet 38 miles. I was frozen, soaking and starving by the time I returned home Big Cry

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Orkney Grey

I did a London to Brighton 51 mile ride yesterday, funnily enough there where another 25,000 of us clogging up the roads. (charity ride) good fun, and well orginised, with (too many) rest stops in my opinion., and kids squirting us with super soakers! but its a good atmosphere. yes its slow and crowded, but its 'the journey' not the time.
had to take my hat off to a bloke i saw riding home, approaching london later on though. with his completion pendant and orange start sticker. no crowds, or clapping relatives to welcome him home. had to be 60years old too.
there was even a guy on a (at front) pedal powered roman chariot cart, with (sort of) whipping rider
-dont know how they got that up Ditchling Beacon! i topped 41 mph on the decsent, before i gripped the brakes!
-didn't want to stripe the tarmac with bone marrow!
some pics of the day, mainly taken when stopped of course..

That's a picture of Robert Marchand, a french centenarian who set the world record for the fastest 100 year old to cover 100km at the outdoor velodrome of Lyon. His time was 4h 17m 27s which doesn't sound very fast but it could be a long time before another centenarian comes along to attempt the challenge Laughing Laughing Laughing
