Just got back from viewing a 2007 SC - Not good!

I am looking for a black 2007/8 facelift SC with black or Ivory leather and just went to view an Autotrader one in Peterborough (56 plate?) (Used Car Lot)

If you are considering it i'll save you the bother - its abused and disgusting! £15k?? I recently bought a 2007 Volvo XC90 and its mint with 62k - like a new car inside for not much more money.

This was filthy for a start, smoked in and worn badly. I knew it was bad from 5 feet away. All outside trim was worn (silver worn to grey in places), door handle colour worn off, doors don't close properly (Volvo shuts with one soft push), boot stiff/felt wrong, rubbish where the spare wheel is (bottles, cans, crisp packets), cargo rings lost most of chrome), all interior switches worn just wrong wrong wrong! Like an auction clanger - yuck!

I am having second thoughts about buying a FFRR now if thats the way they age? Is it possible to get a nice car around 2007 or am i kidding myself? This had 98K on the clock so well used I understand but I wouldn't part with £8k for that car.

Perhaps I just can't afford a SC in my £16k budget if thats what you get?

I'd be interested to hear whether I'm unrealistic in my expectations!

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

Just over a year ago I bought a 2007 TDV8 off our site sponsor Gary Elliott for about the ball park you are looking at. It had ~100k on the clock and nothing like what you described.

Since then I've put ~40k onto it and it has seen a bit of abuse but I got it with the full intention of it replacing a Defender 110 so it's had stinky muddy dogs in the back, been off-road, carried damp, sweaty and smelly climbers around the south of France and later in the year almost certainly off to Morocco in it.

It could do with a little bit of TLC when I get the time but unfortunately not had it so far, doesn't get washed as often as some people on here but mechanically it's being well looked after.

Don't know about the SC but I thought the TDV8's typically held the higher premium although I fully expect I'm wrong about that.

In short - get in touch with Gary, he is a genuinely nice bloke (even if he is a car dealer) and won't sell anything he wouldn't buy himself Whistle Ed

Any car will age badly if it's been abused.

Given a Range Rover's running costs many of them are bought by people with money to burn, because they have money to burn then just don't bother looking after them. Much like you or I might treat a 10 year old Ford Fiesta.

Tbh i rarely pay that much attention to mileage, because you can buy a low mileage dog or a high mileage gem. It just depends how they've been treated.

No idea if it's any good in the flesh. Did you look at the grey one on Autotrader for £15500?

My 3.6 will most likely be coming up somewhere round Derbyshire. I sold it to a dealer. Its mechanically very good and has had all the major stuff tended to.

just needs a bit of attention on the painted wing mirrors, but other than that it was very tidy.... Not all 2007/8 my are bunkum.

Keep looking! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
