I am about to do it again!

Hello,

I have owned a Range Rover Vogue few years ago and this was not a good example. After Ml 320 cdi, Grand Cherokee, X5, in the last 3 years, I have now sold my car and looking for a Range Rover Vogue again. I want a Vogue, no HSE, because of the comfort sit which go with the Vogue. I am looking for a td6, and I will get it remmaped up to 240 horse power. I have seen one which is not my favourite colour ( black ), but the actual owner had just a lot of work done on it: new gearbox last february, back suspensions, all services done, tyres 19" nearly new,... It is a 2004 year, which give me the right to pay half price for the "carte grise" we have to pay in France, with no other tax for pollution. Mileage is 204 000 km ( approx 130 000 miles ) and the asking price is 15 000 € and I could get it for 14 000 €. I know that will sound expensive to what you could find in UK, but down here it is difficult to find one with full history. My main concern is of course the gearbox, that's why I am okay to pay a little bit more, to get one with a new gearbox. I have looked in UK for a lhd Range Rover as well. That could be an option as well. Here are pictures, what do you think?

England 2014 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Loire Blue

Looks nice, just check EVERYTHING works and get the fault codes read to see if it has anything lurking....

A FF is worth what you are willing to pay, peace of mind and a good history is worth a lot.....

Good luck Thumbs Up Pete

I suppose i would question why all the badges are missing. Maybe the owner just didn't like them, but maybe it's been resprayed and they've not been replaced - but then you have to question why it was resprayed.

Thanks, that’s very helpful as it gives me an idea of the value of mine – a November 2004 (2005 model with touchscreen & MOST) HSE Td6, LHD of course. It’s done only 116,000 km (documented), with a new gearbox fitted in September 2011 at 95,000km, so this box has done only around 20,000km.
I’m not sure what the differences between the Vogue and HSE are; mine seems to have all the options to make it a Vogue except the badges.
I had thought it would be worth only around 12-13,000€, but if the one you’re looking at is 15,000€ for almost double the number of km, I’d think mine must be worth more than that!
Sorry, but that won’t help you any, Ludo! Good luck with your search anyway. Thumbs Up
PS: Interesting point ^^ about the badges, Zirconblue ... Bow down It's "bĂ©bĂ©choon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.
20 years ownership of Solihull products, ALL GONE NOW, sniff!
Current motor: Suzuki S-Cross 4WD auto, 1.4 petrol. Oh so reliable! 7 years now and no problems. Oh, all right then, a leaking shocker replaced under guarantee.

Not to mention the Lada Niva before those. (I said not to mention it!)

Thanks for your ideas!
Regarding badges, the car has not been resprayed, it is not rare to find some without the front badges, unusual for the back. I quite like it actually, this car does not need ads! Bebechoon, there are few differences between Vogue and Hse, the more important to me is the comfort seats. Have a look to the head rest, and they should not be the same in your car. I think the heated steering wheel, and the heated back seats are the other differences between the Vogue and the Hse models.
This car has 204 000 km on the clock which is about 125 000 miles, and the actual owner just have spent 8000 € on it. I guess that is the reason why he wants 14 000 € for it.
Bebechoon, why not emailing me pictures of yours? Who knows Wink

Hi again, Ludo
Ah, yes indeed, the headrests are different; I accept your point. Bow down Par contre, mine does have the heated steering wheel – and heated front seats, but not the backs.
I’ll have a think about posting some pictures. I love the car, as does my wife – it’s a FF after all! The problem is: if I sold it, what could possibly replace it, with the same levels of comfort and for that sort of money? (Being retired, unfortunately I don’t have the money to splash out on anything new.) Thanks for the suggestion anyway. Thumbs Up As I say, I’ll think about it … It's "bĂ©bĂ©choon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.

I think the other big difference is the HSE only comes with the CD player in the dash. Where as the Vogue has the Sat nav screen, upgraded sound system and the other goodies that all operate through the central screen.

Jaguar XJ (available with the 4.2 in NA or Supercharged form or the TDV6) Even the X-type in Sovereign spec. Obviously you'd lose the off road ability and high driving position.

BTW, I've got all those! Harman Kardon system with god knows how many speakers and subwoofer, CD-charger in the boot, touch screen SatNav, TV (analogue so it don't work no more!) and so on all in the central screen ... It's "bĂ©bĂ©choon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.

I think you could still specify the screen, nav etc as an option on any model But they came as standard on a Vogue.
