Looking at 2010 to 2012 L322 and there are some lovely Vogue models but I'm put off a tad by the lack of VSE Autobiography or Westminster gravitas around 'only a Vogue' models.

All that's really missing from the V to the VSE seems to be the cooled seats in so tar as obvious 'down sides' to buying a Vogue.

Just wondering if it would be harder to sell a Vogue come resale time and what your other thoughts ?

I doubt it would be harder to sell.

I mean most people think the Vogue is the top one anyway, it's only really enthusiasts like out selves who know the difference.

But you can sell anything for the right price, i mean a Vogue is going to be sold for less than a Autobiography all other things being equal, but a shabby Autobiography is obviously worth less than a decent Vogue.

Actually when i was looking for one, i saw an Autobiography, in a really unusual colour and interior. But it had scratches and dents all over it, and the interior had been trashed by kids, HDC and High/Low range broken off, wood trim scratched to bits. Yeah it was cheaper, but it was basically a wreck. It was probably at least £2000 worth of work to get it up to the same standard as my vogue.

We've just bought a VSE and collect this week.

We looked at Vogue models and apart from a few toys they are great and some have higher spec. The only reason we didn't want a Vogue was the seat piping. It just looked a little dated in our eyes.

We would have went for a Westminster but as it is a Vogue with a little more spec with the same seats we decided on a VSE or AB. In the end the VSE won as the dealer didn't take the wee wee on the px prices.

Some say it doesn't wear as well as the standard Vogue leather, but the Semi Aniline leather in the VSE is very nice

I look for the features that I want, prioritise those into must have & nice to have, then try to find the best car available in my price range.

Having had the cooled seats, I wasn't a particular fan, but my wife loves them I found they warmed up more slowly - I think they rely solely on the heating system rather than electric elements.

I was inclined to start my search at VSE because it was easier than trying to read through all the adverts to figure out which Vogues had upgraded seats.

To me, there are only a few "must haves" in a car. I don't think there are ANY Range a Rovers that fail to meet the minimum spec.

Well I looked at a Vogue today and it was a beauty... That got sold 10 minutes before I turned up

... And dealers do not seem to want to knock a penny off the screen price!

Those that argue in favour of a first class condition Vogue, perhaps with a few additional options, are undoubtedly correct - IF you are making a decision of the head. However, for me, my heart says I could never look past the yawning gaps either side of the clock.

I also agree that the piping looks a little dated now - reminds me of a Rover 800 I once had!

Heating & cooling function is done using a peltier unit Alistair (2 small units in each seat) Nothing to do with the climate control in the dash sir l

If you activate the park heating beforehand would it not speed the seat heating up?

Unsure how the peltier system works.

Has absolutely nothing to do with the engine temp... A stand alone blown hot or cold air system within the seat Ian...

And yes, you are quite right Alistair, they don’t heat up as quickly BUT, then the others don’t cool either

Well, after initial uncertainty over it being 'only a Vogue', opted for a very nicely spec'd Vogue that has all that we need and having looked at many cars all across the land for a month, this was head and shoulders above the rest. Lots of logic in the posts on this thread too so thanks for all responses and the poll submissions
