Just thought I would pass this on for what it is worth.
I noticed that if I opened the boot by pressing the button over the number plate, the boot top door would open like it says on the tin. If I then press the button on the top door, all I would get was two beeps and nothing else.
I dutifully took it back to the stealer who tried it, and it annoying ly worked properly first time!

However.....

The nice engineer said thet they have had this problem with another car and discivered that it only happens in the morning (!) and they traced it to a proximity safety sensor which had got trapped in the door, and then had an ingrees of moisture in the cold mornings, but that all want away in the warm afternoon. End result is that new bits to be fitted under warranty. 2010 TDV8 Zermat Silver with dirty streaks

There's a bulletin about it. Mine had to have the work done.

Yep even my L405 boot has got a mind of its own. Sometimes it doesn't respond to the pressing of the boot button or to the key fob.
