Replacing the 2002-2005 Navigation LCD Screen

Hi All,

Per below, the LCD screen on my navigation unit is faded and worn out in an area on the left. It's okay most of the time but in certain light it looks really poor with big white soft spots.

I've done a bit of research and see that you can replace the screen itself (Part No. YIK500030) for ~£80-100. This one looks okay, for example.

Has anybody had this repair done? Don't know what level of expertise is required... is it a toolkit job or do I need to find a specialist?

Thanks,

a secondhand unit of ebay would be a cheaper option or indeed a replacement android unit would be even better... ... - .- -.
