Near miss......

So finished my shift this morning at 0600, traveling home on a country road and this Censored decides to over take a cyclist.....on a blind bend, how the hell I did not hit him god knows as it was tight in passing.

Now I was going to report him but cant get a clear picture of driver or reg number Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

I would put the recording on but don't know how to trim it down.

I was traveling at between 40 45 mph.....looking at the re run on the recording I was shaking at how close it was.

edited with recording, of the laptop screen as I don't know how to trim recording yet.

 If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

I know, I haven't shown the mrs yet as shes out 'shopping' but the did say on the phone the skid mark was impressive on the road.

If I work out how to trim the recording Ill post up.

As for the poor lycra lad, must of though he was lucky loo.

Now looking at the rear cam footage for the reg number If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

Jeez, that's close!

You could always show it to the local constabulary for them to "have a word" with the other driver. If he had pulled across any further, the cyclist was history!

Driving without due car and attention IMHO Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

Stand by for the comments - "You were going too fast", "driving unsighted by the sun".

I know you weren't but the road is narrow and the camera gives an exaggerated sense of speed. Also the camera doesn't react as fast as your eye to direct sunlight.

TNH I wouldn't have posted it. However, that's just me and absolutely no offence intended.

Doesn't detract from the other driver being a pratt. John

Thumbs Up

no offence taken fella, as we ALL know dash cams cant react as quickly as the human eye and for the sun light shining it looks worse on the screen than it actually was ( failing of the 0801 camera)

As for speed I was no more than 45mph approaching the bend, unless you know the road you can pass approaching cars and only a few parts you must slow right down for the bends and narrow parts of the road, this road is not great for speed in a FF as you just bounce all over the place!

I posted this as a reminder to all on holiday when on country roads to watch out...you never know!

Yes I guess this was a 'local' too and didn't expect a FF to come round the corner at that time in morning but should not of been my side of the road.
Point is who over takes on a blind bend. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

I certainly puckered up watching the video, pretty sure the road was not the only thing that had impressive skids

All things said and done at least nobody was hurt. If a collision had occured it looked like it would have ended very badly for the other driver and the cyclist. What's annoying is that he only needed to wait a few seconds to pass safely.

i had a few days in Dolgellau last week and the driving was shocking, even locals with trailers and animal trailers over taking me and pulling away im at 50 Shocked and weather was awful but still no change on the narrow roads, went to the Haven site at Porthmadog while i was there to see my old RR and he's still grinning about it but not a lover of the place tbh Thumbs Up _____________________________________________________

Sure, you could have a word with the police. With all the CCTV, there's a good chance they can find a shot of the vehicle entering or leaving a junction to the road near the time in question. Their cameras should be able to catch the number plate.

And thank your lucky stars (and the cyclist's) is wasn't a LOT worse. Shocked I'm glad you're okay.
