What would you pay?

Just interested to know what others opinions are on the value of a 3.6 TDV8 Vogue. Done around 100k. Black with Ivory leather?

Judging by the profile, I'd say 2008 Whistle

I PX'd my 57 VSE with 121k for £12k - black with Ivory - had a 2010 facelift but that was largely ignored in PX value

Yours is probably pitched about right, but you're a little off the beaten track for people coming to view......

Correct 2008 on a 58 plate...... Agree about the area not being great for everyone. Thought I'd pitched it about right but disappointed at the lack of interest, hence this thread to see if I'm out of line.

When was that P/ex Alistair out of interest?

Strange what has happened to car sales if you went back 20 years and looked at the Autotrader at least threequarters of cars were private sales yet when you look now even on Ebay only a fraction are private sales? What happened there?

The other thing I've noticed is that people are offering trade money for vehicles. Years ago, people would offer you somewhere within the region that you knew was a fair price. If you're a private seller you're selling at private values not trade value.

Why anyone sells a vehicle to a member of the public at trade price when you can just chop it in without any hassle I don't know.

England 2008 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Tonga Green

Last Friday I asked for a part exchange value on my 2008 08 plate VSE diesel at a Land Rover main dealer against a 2013 Freelander. It had FLRSH, 83k miles and was in excellent condition. The offer was £12,500. I walked as the car is worth a lot more to me than this. But they are not easy cars to sell, they are expensive to fuel, tax and insure and have potential for big bills. Past a certain age buyers are just not there and only want to give peanuts for the car.

I always remember what some one told me a long time ago when buying cars. The more you pay the more you loose. And its still true today.

Good luck with the sale.

Paul

@mogman50 - Spot on, this is very true. Feel the same as you re p/ex values but unfortunately there is only a bit of a niche market for them.
If only FFRR's went up in value like houses, we'd all be flogging huge country estates for top dollar !!

Hi

I think your price is fair as I'm looking for a nice TDV8 and, apart from dealers, they're all in the same price bracket. HAving the same issues with buyers though as I'm selling my D3 - worth 11K in a private sale and am being offered 9K - I'd get 9.5k if I traded it in !!!!
At the end of the day I think people are looking for the ultimate bargain - just won't be my D3 !!! 2017 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography

As you have asked the question on a public forum, then hopefully this does not come across as rude, but if it was a fair price then surely it would have sold?

I am in the market for an older petrol Range Rover so have no "dog in this fight " as our colonial cousins may say. In my somewhat limited experience in the car world, there are only two reasons why a car doesn't sell. It is either too expensive or just not a good one. To the OP, I would suggest from the pictures and the write up it is a good one.

All very much IMHO. Any car is only worth whatever someone is willing to pay after all.

There are more than 2 reasons - it also matters where it's being advertised - and where it is located, although I guess that needs to be factored into the price - whether you can provide a warranty, finance etc.

But in general, I agree, there are a finite list of parameters that you can change..... time is one of them, so if you're in a hurry something else has to give.

Based on our systems its priced correctly if not ever so slightly slightly cheap. Thumbs Up

PS: The market is slow at present you may have to wait longer than expected.

Offered 13,500 for mine (78k 57plate tdv8 vogue) in Px against a 12 plate 4.4 vogue. Which I thought was a bit mean..... They offered 17,500 6 months ago! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
