Drivers memory seat fault

Hi All,

The drivers memory seat has stopped working. It used to change driver position from both our key fobs.

Does anyone know a quick fix or does the ecu require reseting by a main dealer, or is the fault worse than I thought?

Thanks

It`s working today??

Must of been an electrical gremlin. My cerbera occasionally has them too.

It`s was the actual memory function that didn`t seem to be working. When I pressed my alarm fob, the seats and mirrors moved to my position. When my Mrs did hers it didn`t move. She also tried pressing the No2 button on the seat, which is her setting and nothing??

Anyone have similar experiences?

How do you use the memory function buttons on the seats? I have an L322 October 2003 model and when I try to press the number 1 or 2 buttons, they move to another setting. I also tried pressing the memory button at the same time as number 1 or 2 button but had same result. Am I to understand that each key fob remembers individual settings for the seats and the steering rack?

Grateful for any advice.

Regards,

Steve

Thanks Stan. I did a quick search for electric seats but it only came up with fitting a Britax Childs seat. I then tried gaining access to the owners handbook but it came back with an unexpected error message, so perhaps the site is still down. I will have another look later or perhaps I need to register first.

Put the key in the ignition then set the seat, steering wheel and mirrors to where you want them. Press the M button on the seat, then press the desired number lets say 1. That stores those settings in memory 1.

If you want to recall them just hold in the 1 button and it'll set the seats and everything to the stored position.

For some reason Topix isn't working without logging in, just register as an independent operator and set up a log in.

And if you set the seat, mirrors and wheel to another position for the Lady friend with the other key and set it at memory 2, the next time she gets in the car using that key, it should remember her settings when the car unlocks (Unless you have used the 2nd key and moved the seats)

The memory function is useful, it will even remember what CD you were playing and the track position.

Do a test. Set your memory position, then move the seat so its not right. Lock the car. Unlock the car - you should see the seat move back. Discovery 4 HSE

Thanks, that's great. The test will have to wait until late July as it is currently aboard a container ship in the Atlantic Ocean on its way to Cameroon!
