Neither of them came out of that well.

The cyclist sounded mentally ill and the driver seemed to have small man syndrome. No one won that, except perhaps us who get to laugh at the video.

If the driver was so worried about the cyclist touching his car/mirror, maybe he shouldn't have been so close then??!!

The cyclists mantra "I'm legally allowed"..
What we don't see, but learn from the friendly chat, is that the cyclist thumped the car when the car squeezed past at the mini roundabout..... 2 wrongs I think, which makes them both arses... Previously..

I think the mirror was only displaced when the driver seemed to try to force the cyclist off the road and run him into the kerb - before that point the mirror seemed to be in its correct position.

I am pleased he was fined - more motorists who intimidate and generally threaten the well being of cyclists should be prosecuted

Too many cyclists are killed and injured by drivers who have a complete disregard for cyclists safety - I am put in a vulnerable position by careless motorists several times a month either cutting me up or pulling out on me, etc - its not pleasant and the reason why so many are now wearing head-cams.

However, had I been the cyclist I would have simply smiled at him, let him have his rant, make the death threats and then pass the evidence to the police rather than sinking to his level

I've been beeped at for holding back on the way out of my town to ensure not passing close to cyclists (hill with unbroken white lines), We are in an area where lots cycle, nice routes etc. I refuse to drive closely in a big tin box that could do untold damage. Many times I see people go past on unbroken white lines. There is a pub near me, opposite which is a 6' sandstone bank. I've seen a cyclist unclip and have to fling himself clear to avoid a lady in a Honda CRV. I checked he was ok and offered the reg plate, He wasn't bothered. I have to say I've seen more car drivers in the wrong than lycra louts (joke, before anyone else jumps down my throat)

It still remains that video doesn't show either of them in a good light. I'm glad the guy got fined, apart from the cr@p Ray Winstone plastic gangster "break neck... blah blah" 'threats' could he not see the bloody camera? What a total moron.

What an appalling tirade from both road users.
The person driving the Discovery clearly doesn't know the road rules with cyclists and how close you should be when passing them.
I know that cyclists can be slow, take up road space, but I always give them at least 4 feet when passing them.
If I can't pass them, then I just follow them until I can pass safely.
The trouble is that common courtesy, road manners and just being polite don't seem to be prevalent on the roads these days. Everyone is in too much of a rush, or last minute to get where they are going.
Take a chill pill, nice and steady, does it really matter if you get to your destination a couple of minutes later?

And don't forget horse riders can get this type of ' talkin' too.....from both, cyclist and car driver as well, had first hand of it  If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

IMHO there are good & bad in both camps... I obviously drive a car, i also ride a pedal cycle (often) and ride a motorbike... Living on the edge of the cotswolds we have loads of cyclists here and to be fair, there seems to be a hate the car driver mentality within the cyclist's click! That said, i often go for cycle rides with my kids and have to say, RARELY find any discourteous drivers... BUT when driving, seem to often find VERY arrogant/selfish cyclists riding 2 or 3 abreast in dangerous places causing drivers to brake heavily & take avoiding action! Seams that self preservation is seriously lacking!!!

I try to treat other people as i want to be treated myself...
