You could be right but i would have thought a rouge stone would be more likely. Even from passing traffic? |

Did you have the heated rear screen on? Astons had an issue a while back where a HRS issue caused them to go 'bang'. |

I have heard of this happening a few times when towing in Oz. Any tow vehicle can be hit by stones hitting the towed vehicle and ricocheting into the glass of the tow car. I have made up a full width mudflap that nearly touches the floor to reduce the risk. Made of old conveyor belt, it is permanently attached to my Treg hitch / Reece tongue so is easy to remove. I do a lot of trips on dirt roads so feel its worthwhile protection for both the towed and tow vehicles |

Yes, on the caravan forums someone said they had a blanket made up that obsorbs the impact of the stones so that they don,t bounce back, live and learn, this is the first glass i have lost in 50 yrs of driving and i will now have to insure to make sure if it happens again i will have the cost covered. |
