I was thinking of a witty answer...................................

"Of course you can, or perhaps not, well perhaps a quick spin, or that may be too risky, but perhaps we could make an exception, but then again, Oh I'm not sure." Wink

On a serious note, you're welcome to come and have a spin (just not for a week I'm affraid!).

France 2013 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Causeway Grey

Hello James,
I'm looking to buy a new LHD 2011 Range Rover and still not sure about a SC or the new 4.4 TDV8.
I have driven the 5L SC and like the refinement and quietness of this car (I hate the diesel sound which is quite prominent at idle on the 3.6 TDV8).
But I'm worried about DPF (Diesel Particle Filter) which is standard on the new TDV8 and which has given its share of problems with people having to drive 40 miles or so at constant revs to clear the DPF when you haven't done long distances for a while.
As I'm doing a lot of local driving and only once in a while a longer distance on the motorway, do you think it would be a problem with the new 4.4 TDV8 and do I risk clogging up the DPF?
Or has the DPF problem been sorted on the new 4.4 TDV8?
I've launched a topic on this but not many owners seem to have a DPF on their car.
Do you supply LHD vehicles?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

never had a problem with a DPF - and none of my friends have either - the only people who seem to have a problem are those that drive like a pussy!

use it to burn a few Supercharged 4.2's and you won't have a problem! Wink

you could be right Tim, I suppose it could depend if they will do a Stage 1 and a Stage 2.

CSK,

In answer to your question, we have been told that ALL 11my vehicles (i.e. D4, RRS & FL2 included) have revised software which changes the specific 'regeneration' requirements. Touch wood we have not had any DPF issues with 11my vehicles to date.

If you are on the fence with regard to DPF and the jury is out over over tickover noise then I would suggest going along the 5.0SC route. If it was one of the two concerns in issolation then a drive in one would tip you in one direction or another.

If we were closer to S France then you'd be welcome to come in for a drive.

James Thumbs Up
