How frequently should the DPF warning come on (invariably accompanied by the orange emissions light - engine symbol)?

I have a 2 month old TDV6 and it has come on three times now, with only a week since the last time. The car does mixed driving, so I am surprised it is coming on at all.

Should I make a trip to the dealer, or does this sound 'normal'?

Mine hasn't come on once in the past 4 years...either in the L322 or L405. Mostly town driving here.

Thanks for the feedback. On the back of it we called out Land Rover Assist (on the advice of the dealer). Their technician attended promptly and advised that this was a problem affecting new RRs and Sports with the revised 3.0 engine. A software update has been applied (which supposedly isn't available until tomorrow ) and so far so good.

This is the second software fix in 6 weeks; the first was to correct a problem whereby the lower tailgate wouldn't close .

Glad they've sorted yours...I had the tailgate issue too which was very frustrating.

The problem with the DPF is still there.

LRA have been out again, and this time they are suggesting that the software fix is not quire there yet!!??

They have taken the car out on a long run to regenerate the DPF (as they did last time, and as we have had to do about 4 or 5 times). And who is paying for the fuel for all these journeys ....

Another (!) software update today, this time at the dealership.

Less than 30 hours and about 80 miles later the problem has returned.

Well, it turns out there was not a problem with the DPF filter or the software that controls the regeneration cycle. The DPF was filling up because of a problem elsewhere. The dealer traced this to a defective seal on the EGR valve block, but LR also advised that a replacement throttle body should be fitted. The car was away for a couple of weeks because the throttle bodies were on back order. Thanks to Ryan in LR customer services for arranging for one to be called off the production line. I've had the car back for over a week now and I'm convinced that it has better performance than before.

During the time the car was at the dealers I was *forced* to put up with a brand new Hybrid FFRR, so there was no hardship endured because of the issue. Again, thanks to Ryan for arranging this.
