New purchase - Mini Cooper 1.5

I bought this today for a family car (but mainly for my son)

I drove it from Cheltenham to Oxford. Not my normal fare but I was very impressed - top little machine.

My son took over and drove it back from there. Comfy too.

I tried one of the first "new" Minis and the ride was terribly harsh. Has that improved? I love look and size, but the comfort was lacking.

Thanks for the reassurance on build quality.

As for the suspension, one man's "harsh" is another man's "sporty". But I thought the ride quality was good. I have not driven any other model. The reviews say the ride has improved.

I also like 'em, but some of the new variants don't look very "mini" but I still like 'em Very Happy Geoff

/\

It seems that it's only with foreign ownership and investment that British car brands had / have any chance of survival.

I'd much rather see a foreign owned and invested brand than something die through poor investment, quality and management Thumbs Up

Edgy design will always divide opinions, which great, because the world would be very dull if we all liked the same things Thumbs Up

That's good. I think they look great and seem to be a lot of fun. If the ride's sorted - PERFECT! Thumbs Up Have fun.

I think the one you have got Mongy is spot on. The Countryman and Clubman models look Censored awful IMHO. Future wifey wants a Cooper and I am looking forward to driving it Thumbs Up SDV8 AB MY 2019

We have a Cooper S Convertible & it's been great

Ride is quite hard on run flats - better with regular tyres - for a variety of reasons, my summer tyres are run flat & the winter ones aren't so I have equal experience of both.

BMW did a really great job when you think that as well as the Mini, they also did the L322 at about the same time - and all their own cars Bow down
