I did say unlikely Wink

Although I have just found out that it's possible to a 70 deg C difference between the 2 sides of the plate, but the heat / cold has to be dissipated for this to happen. So even assuming that L/R were able to get 100% efficiency ( Rolling with laughter ) that still aint gonna start a fire Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

see crags post in the thread mentioned above, it refers to a filter in the heated and cooled seats, this requires changing as part of the service schedule, maybe that is what they are referring to, and not the element itself. Worth checking.

Hi northernmonkeyjones

Thanks all for the reply's - I have read these all

I am beginning to think - " as he ( the LR service guy ) got the 3.6 model car, who I believe has only got heated seats - ie No Tea bag seats, mixed up with the 4.4 version !
Is this what he may have been thinking - does the 3.6 FFRR have to have the elements serviced ??????? - or what was he getting mixed up. He did say to me the HEATER ELEMENTS HAVE TO BE CHANGED IN THE SEATS - that was clear as anything, when he said it - as I thought at the time ...... Oh Censored my seats leather will be all over the place.

It was worth starting this thread - as someone has already said - if you go to a dealer and they say the same to you - at least you will now know - as I didn't at the time.
and dont get me wrong - I love my dealer - but there's things that get changed or wrong info given - we are all human

I now know the 4.4 with the Tea Bag Seats are heated by the engine

Emirates... You 100% DO NOT have seats that are heated by the engine sir!!!

You have 4 peltier units in your front seats! One in each base and one in each back! The peltier units or MINI FRIDGE/OVEN units (as i refer to them when explaining to my customers) have a FILTER that looks much like the make up removal pad my wife uses nightly! The filters are replaced at big services NOT the peltier heater! (as that would cost around £3000 Shocked )

Hopefully that is now crystal clear Very Happy Bow down Thumbs Up

IMHO nothing is very difficult on the FFRR Shocked

But to be honest, changing the filters mean removing the rear leather cover/map pocket panel of the seats! If you are happy with that then yes they are easy enough replaced at home... There are one in each rear (obvious when you remove the panel) and one under each seat (again obvious when you kneel down and look under your seat sir)

Bung Ducky Dan a PM and I’m sure he will quote you happy Thumbs Up

Where are these filters listed in Microcat? I cannot find them in heater nor in seats section? Maybe I'm missed them?

Or what part number do these have? Supporter and maintainer of EDF - Mrs Edfors' shopping cart.
