Seats compatibility

Does anyone know if a set of front Vogue SE seats from a 2012 will fit a 2008 Vogue. Not worried about the ventilation function just need electrics and heated seat bit to work. From what I understand (bit limited) the SE seats do not have a heating element however could it be swapped from the Vogue seats or alternatively is the cabling there behind the dash switches that would allow you to change out the Vogue switch panel for a Vogue SE panel.
Tried the 2012 (style)seats and so much more comfortable, the 2008 ones are giving me a bit of a back problem (recurring old problem) and thought the newer style may help. Porsche 993 Targa, Buick Skylark Convertable 1968

From personal experience of re-foaming a 2007 VSE seat, they DO have electrical heating and Air-Con linked cooling. But the 2010 onwards VSE seats I *believe* (and Craig can probably keep me honest here) the heating is not electrical but linked to the heating and ventilation system.

If I am correct you would have some challenges to overcome. You would have the electrical connections for heating as Vogues had heated seats. But you wouldn't have heating elements in the seats themselves. Yes, you could probably swap them over but note they are delicate (with a capital 'F') and easily broken.

Good luck though.

mzplcg, thank you. Was a bit worried about the heat, could live without the ventilation.
Hopefully can touch base (no pun intended) with Craig later on the feasibility of the swap Question Porsche 993 Targa, Buick Skylark Convertable 1968

Not really compatible I'm afraid sir Sad

Your Vogue has electrical elements to heat them whereas the VSE seats have an air heater/cooler in the base and another in the seat back... So, retro fitting the heating/cooling feature would be a mission as they have different looms!

To make things crystal clear! If you had a 2007 VSE then yes you can fit 2012 VSE or AB seats BUT only if the car is equipt with the air heated/cooled feature!

Sorry sir Embarassed

Yes but they are the same seats Whistle Whistle Whistle

So, how would you benefit? Are yours crushed? Deformed in some way?

Apologies missed your reply Embarassed
Sat in a 2011 and seats looked different and were very comfortable, with mine seem to get a numb left thigh as the bolster is so high. Porsche 993 Targa, Buick Skylark Convertable 1968
