iT, when you say "heating element" are you refering to the grid/lines on the rear side windows and back window? If so, I can't see how anyone can tell from the pics without getting very close. I have aftermarket tints on my RR (i think) and I have to get my nose up to it to see them. Could that be due to the degree of tint that I have (being quite dark) ??

Well Jez, what have you discovered??

Hi RRCanuck - Most of us are in the land of nod over here at the moment Smile

Regarding the elusive factory tints iT LAD has his heart set on - Factory Tints (or Privacy Glass) the orange coloured heating element lines are not visible from outside the vehicle unlike aftermarket window tint film which (when fitted) does show the lines regardless of how dark the tint might be...

..so what is your Range Rover fitted with Question

At Delamo: Laughing

Almost the land of nod here too!!

I can confirm with you that indeed I can see the orange lines through my tints, although you need to get close to notice. Thanks for the clarification. Its kind of neat that the factory can hide the lines.

What I have noticed though is that I had not seen a single RR this side of the pond without tints until I came to this site. Therefore, unless a customer specifically requests no tints, I would imagine that in the N.A. market factory tints may be standard??

mike.

2010 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Today at the event I was sat at lunch with a guy who uses his 2010 VSE Santorini with Ivory to drive around in the 4 quarries that he owns, I commented that he must have a nightmare keeping the seats clean if he is driving wearing site protective clothing. Reckons it isn't a problem - dirty hand prints on the door pulls are more of a problem than keeping the seats clean. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Well I can't see the lines without a really close look so I guess ITLad is right but as you mention there are no RR's without tints in NA to compare against, I will check the multitude of rice rockets parked up in my work car park to see the difference with aftermarket tints and heating lines Laughing 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

I went past a Disco3 today with tints. Looked over and saw the lines right away. They do stand out.
Now I know exactly why iT LAD is so fussy! Laughing

It's not just keeping it clean, I think the black looks more modern... and as I'm a young Lad, that matters... Cool

To me, it's a no brainier. Thumbs Up
