Unannounced feature: not recommended in the manual, but the Smart Key remote can survive going through a washing machine . The chrome cover and spare key parted company so all the bits were being washed and whizzed around…dried it, fitted a new battery, re-assembled…it still works fine . Norman

I remember that the old BMW style first gen. keys fobs were supposed to be watertight up to 10 bar even  MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
